Thankfulness day 2

Today I am thankful to have a relationship with The Lord. With the knowledge that he gave his life for my every sin, I can go forth in life showing his Grace and forgiveness through how I treat others.

Freedom

Freedom what does it mean to you? To me it means 2 things. One is very basic - because of what God did for us I have the freedom to live and show the world me. John 3:16 - 18 states: This is how much God loved the world: He gave his Son, his one and only Son. And this is why: so that no one need be destroyed; by believing in him, anyone can have a whole and lasting life. God didn't go to all the trouble of sending his Son merely to point an accusing finger, telling the world how bad it was. He came to help, to put the world right again. Anyone who trusts in him is acquitted; anyone who refuses to trust him has long since been under the death sentence without knowing it. And why? Because of that person's failure to believe in the one-of-a-kind Son of God when introduced to him.

This allows me to worship God, to listen to country music, to listen to boy bands :), to read books that I want, to watch the shows that I want, and to have the friends that I want. I get to show the world my love for my God, my family, and my friends.

The second freedom comes from all of those wonderful soldiers out there defending it for ME. They are putting their life on the line daily for my freedom and for yours. Dwight D. Eisenhower states: Freedom has its life in the hearts, the actions, the spirit of men and so it must be daily earned and refreshed - else like a flower cut from its life-giving roots, it will wither and die.

Thank you first and ultimately for Jesus and his sacrifice and secondly to the soldiers out there who sacrifice their safety on a daily basis for us!!
